    Mayor of Medellin, Alonso Salazar Jaramillo, on Friday signed a cooperation agreement with the Government of the Dominican Republic, with which the city will share experiences with this country in terms of transparency in municipal management, social and environmental planning. Dominican Republic will share its knowledge in tourism with Medellin. The agreement was signed in the Salón de los Cipreses, at El Castillo Museum.

    With the projects “While We Come Back Home” (recreation for persons deprived of their liberty, children living on the street and victims of forced displacement) and “Sports Unlimited” (physical activity for people with visual, physical, sensory or cognitive disabilities), Medellin´s Institute of Sports and Recreation (INDER) participated in the V International Prize to Solidarity in Sport, in Madrid, Spain. Only five projects, among hundreds submitted from around the world, came to the final. Two of them are from our city.

    En medio de un ambiente renovado y abierto el disfrute del espacio público, el 15 de enero el alcalde Alonso Salazar entregó el nuevo Corredor Turístico y Recreativo de la Carrera 70. De esta forma, y gracias a sus nuevas condiciones arquitectónicas, la tradicional vía se convierte en el primer centro comercial a cielo abierto de la ciudad.

    El arquitecto peruano Manuel de Rivero fue elegido como ganador del Concurso de Ideas para la Segunda Etapa del MAMM, luego de que el jurado identificó en su propuesta la correspondencia con el contexto urbano y el desarrollo a futuro de los predios adyacentes al Museo, y su coherencia con la necesidad de marcar una pauta de intervención y de consolidación de los predios cercanos al Museo; así como el entorno inmediato del Plan de Desarrollo Municipal.
